Our newest piece of farm equipment is from around the mid 1970s. This equipment was built to last and you can still find repair parts and tune up kits for almost all of it. The gasoline engines use point systems, distributors and sometimes, the older magneto ignition systems. Gas is fed into the intake manifolds using carburetors that can be serviced using rags, q-tips, a can of Gumout spray, WD-40 and something called elbow grease. On the auction circuit an 80 horsepower, diesel fixer upper will cost you less than a new Sears lawn and garden tractor.
