Maple Lane Farm is a working, small diversified farm. The farmhouse is well over 100 years old and the three story barn was a granite shed that was moved from Hallowell, Maine approximately sixty years ago. The bed and breakfast is located in the ell portion of the main house while the cottage is located in the restored milk house near the barn. We have about fifteen acres of fields, about one acre of gardens and orchards and about 35 acres of woods and trails.
We have draft horses that sometimes are used for light farm work. We have Belted Galloway beef cows and Romney cross sheep. We have Aracauna chickens that lay pink or blue-green colored eggs.
We use wind and solar power in order to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels that are produced from away. We grow many fruits and vegetables during the growing season to include : apples, corn, melons, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, potatoes and asparagus.

Who is Who on the Farm
These are the domesticated creatures that share the landscape
and the goings on at Maple Lane Farm. Some of these creatures weigh a few pounds and others weigh near 2,000 pounds. The large creatures provide work, baby creatures and wool for the farm. The smaller creatures provide companionship but also hunt rodents, provide eggs and warn the family if there is trouble.
